Kevin Harvick will sit on the pole at Saturday’s 5-Hour Energy 400 at the Kansas Speedway after winning Friday night’s elimination qualifying.
Harvick posted a final round lap time of 27.79 seconds, enough to hold off Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski who finished in second and third position.
Denny Hamlin, who won last week’s Aaron's 499 at Talladega, and Matt Kenseth, who won both the pole and the race last year, failed to get out of the first round of qualifying.
