The Los Angeles Lakers have swept the Denver Nuggets. Most people expected the Lakers to win, but no one could have predicted that the Nuggets, a fifty win and very talented team, would get so summarily swept.
It has become apparent that the Lakers are starting to pull away from their Western Conference counterparts. Kobe has become the leader the rest of the league feared he could become. He looks primed to lead this tightly knit, effective unit straight to the Finals.
Pau Gasol has erupted as an offensive force on the block. Lamar Odom has that look in his eye like he is ready to take his man to the hole every time he gets an angle. Kobe is working in the triangle beautifully, taking his shots and most importantly dishing off to teammates he trusts.
Phil Jackson's triangle offense has once again become the force it was meant to be, with movement and unselfishness. The Lakers bench still seems to be one of the best in the NBA using their energy and cohesiveness to sustain the solid play when the starters take a rest.
The rest of the West should watch out, because the Lakers are peaking and with Kobe leading the way it doesn't look like anyone is going to get beat anytime soon. The Lakers have shown us that they can dominate games against a talented team.
And what's the scariest thing for the other teams left in the West?
We still have yet to see the best of these Lakers.

Well, even though I like him and think he has to take a lot of undue flak, I just don't think Lamar Odom and aggressiveness jibe well. Otherwise, I think you're right on here, and you know what's really scary?
This is all without Andrew Bynum! Can you imagine what they'd look like with him still out there?

ohh god, with him still out there they would be pretty much a lock for the championship, but, as it stands I don't think he's gonna come back cuz even if he does they have to integrate him in and that would mesh everything, plus he would need to get back to form, I don't think we'll see him again this season but if they did still have him it would be crazy

When they get Bynum back I dont think they will be a lock, because he might be rusty and the chemistry wont be there yet, but if he was here all a long...wow

ya, sorry bout that, all i was really saying was that I don't think he is coming back this season. But if he had never gotten hurt they would be, thats what I was trying to say.

Kobe is clearly the MVP, unstopable offensive force. Score at will, anytime he can go off for 20pts/qtr. He can defend and pass just as good. Pau Gasol just keeps getting better, he can shoot from the outside, catch and finish on the inside, he can make the pass and run the court. He can read the traingle and make the cuts. Lamar has flourished with Gasol here, he takes his man off dribble, although at time he is hesistant to shoot the outside jumper and thats why his defender gives him space. Luke Walkton has emerged into a 15+ ppg in the playoffs. Vujacic and farmar and come in and QUICKLY pour in 9-12 points. Turiaf is an energy guy and he come in and ignite the offense, he can give you a few blocks, score 5-8pts. Radman is getting better at the triangle and can shoot that sweet "J" and can make the go ahead pass. Trevor Ariza is known for his permimeter defense should be available soon. If by ne chance Bynum comes back the Lakers a sure in to play in the NBA finals. Hands down KOBE IS THE MVP of the league. The best player in the league for about 5-6 years now. The best offensive guard NBA has seen EVER and he is the best closer since MJ.
