The Cincinnati Reds have announced that utility man Wilkin Castillo will be placed on the disabled list and is out for the remainder of the season with a torn right labrum in his right shoulder.

Castillo was acquired last season from Arizona, along with pitchers Micah Owings and Dallas Buck, for Adam Dunn.

Wilkin Castillo has had two stints for the Reds this season and appeared in four games.
