One of the unfortunate results of the latest round of conference realignment was the end of the Border War, the century-long rivalry between Kansas and Missouri. The last matchup on the football field came in 2011, which was the last year the Tigers played in the Big 12 before leaving for the SEC. While MU has made it clear that it wants to continue the rivalry, Kansas has balked at the idea for a few years. Today, Tigers head coach Gary Pinkel took a little shot at the Jayhawks, and then claimed that the two will eventually play again.
