Euroleague Commercial Features World's Most Insane Pool Dunk

Game. Set. Match. You could try to best the Turkish Airlines Euroleague pool dunk, but you would fail miserably. That is, unless you have two water jetpacks.

Deadspin's Tom Ley found just the latest pool dunk floating around on the Internet, this one featuring four players from the Turkish Airlines Euroleague: Shawn James, Kyle Hines, Robin Benzing and Sergio Rodriguez.

As you no doubt remember, last summer saw a slight uptick in the amount of pool dunks being uploaded to video sites. OK, it was like an avalanche of pool bros quickly proving that you can indeed jump the shark with pool slams.

So you know it has to be truly remarkable for us to take yet another gander poolside. The going rate on our interest rests at one jet ski and a water jetpack, so let that be a warning to you would-be pool players.

Fortunately, producers working on the ad gave the Internet a peek behind the scenes with the following video:

There is something refreshing about knowing that this entire ordeal took 22 takes to get right. You always know that these pool dunks take practice, but seeing various failures makes the end product all the more satisfying.

Executive producer Rob Steiner gives an idea of what they are working with: "It's a one-shot ad, 30 seconds. We've got two cranes, 12 players, four pros, all of whom have to be synchronized and choreographed perfectly."

Steiner adds there is a time constraint: "We've got one day to shoot this. But in reality we've got four hours, because the professionals are only here for that time."

Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv's Shawn James offers, "This setup is by far the best one out there." We don't disagree.

Ley is a tad more reserved in his assessment: "This one, orchestrated by the Euroleague, may not be the most complicated one we've ever seen, but it is certainly the most polished."

Pool dunkers, you now have your gauntlet. You'll need more than water conveyances to top this commercial's attempt.

That just means we are about to enter a wild and crazy summer where the pool dunks are bigger, better and far more insane that last year's, which is a great thing for the rest of us who can't be poolside. We will be here by the computer, waiting for videos we know are being fashioned right now.
