The Minnesota Timberwolves have traded Randy Foye and Miller Miller to the Washington Wizards for Oleksiy Pecherov, Darius Songaila, Etan Thomas, and the fifth overall pick in the 2009 draft.

The Wolves had been looking to move both of these players. Miller averaged a career-low 9.9 points last season. Foye is in the last year of his contract, as is Miller.

This trade works for both sides because the Wolves get another high pick and they save money. Expect the Wolves to trade the 18th pick and Etan Thomas to the Clippers for center Chris Kaman.

Minnesota wants to be able to move Al Jefferson back to the power forward position where he belongs. This would allow Kaman to start at center.

The Wizards get two good guards who can handle and score the ball. Foye will likely come off the bench. Miller might start at shooting guard, unless DeShawn Stevenson or Nick Young can step it up in a big way.

With the fifth pick, I see the Wolves taking Jonny Flynn from Syracuse. He is a good point guard who can score the ball. With the sixth pick, the Wolves will take Tyreke Evans from Memphis. He's a great scorer who can knock down shots at a high rate.
