Here's Pat Bowlen, owner / GM of the Denver Broncos. He fired the winningest coach in the Broncos history and replaced him with a rookie from N. E..
In doing so he alienatied the franchise QB J. Cutler and doomed the team to mediocrity this season and the forseeable future.
He seemd to molify Cutler by telling him that the new coach would retain the O co-ordinator for continuity.
Josh McDaniels, the new coach, immediatly fired Bates and dangled Cutler as trade bait for "his guy" Matt Cassel.
This was without Cutlers knowledge and after saying when introduced as head coach, " Jay's a great QB and I'm glad we have him to lead this team".
Cutler didn't appreciate being lied to and demanded a trade. After fumbling many times, McDaniels/Bowlen were forced to trade him.
They got a good trade, but didn't address the QB position adiquatly. (Kyle Orton/ Simms aren't J.Cutler).
Now they're about to lose Pro-bowler Brandon Marshal for the same reasons. No credibility.
Hiring Mike Shanahan was Pat Bowlen's smartest move since buying the Broncos. Firing Mike Shanahan was the dumbest move in the history of the Franchise. In my humble opinion....lol
