Roster Moves from Over the Weekend...
Sorry I'm late on this, I posted this on twitter yesterday but just haven't had the time to post it on the blog. Anyway...
The Bengals made a couple of roster moves over the weekend cutting WR Mario Urrutia, QB Billy Ferris, TE Matt Sherry, and long-snapper James Smith.
After declaring for the draft after his sophomore year at the U of L many experts thought he would have benefited from another year in school, I think he would probably agree at this point.
I can understand when guys like Michael Crabtree come out early...but Urrutia is NO Michael Crabtree. Regardless, I wish Mario nothing but the best of luck. Hopefully he is picked up by another team that isn't as deep at the WR position as the Bengals where he will have an opportunity to develop.
As far as Matt Sherry is concerned, I have absolutely no idea what Marvin and company expected to get when they drafted Sherry. He really didn't have much offer coming out of college, so I'll just look at it as a rookie mistake with drafting a TE. With this said, I think they nailed it this year when they drafted Chase Coffman.
Finally, if you really expected Billy Ferris and James Smith to make the team then you are delusional and should go back to watching the Kige Ramsey show.
Who Dey!!
