There is a possibility that this is Mike Sanford’s last go around unless he can get something done this spring and then have that translate into wins in the fall. Sanford has only 6 wins in his 3 seasons as the Rebels head coach. This spring the Quarterback position needs to be finalized because last year the two players were splitting time Travis Dixon who started at the beginning of the season and then there is Omar Clayton who came on midseason, and these two seem to be the front runners. Also in the mix for the Rebels are Dack Ishii who appeared in 2 games late in the year, and then there also is Redshirt Freshman Mike Clausen.  Also the defense will need some more help with Beau Bell leaving early for the NFL Draft, even outside of Bell the defense gave up way too many points and the team needs to establish some depth to be able to stay more competitive in 2008.  If the Rebels can settle on a QB who can limit turnovers and be decent this team could easily double their wins to 4, because the Rebels have good receivers in Casey Flair and Ryan Wolfe who are very good.  Also toss in tail back Frank Summers who is a solid tailback, so the main focus needs to find a QB that can run the offense.
