Chelsea winger Florent Malouda has agreed terms on a new four-year deal.

The Frenchman, who had two years remaining on his current contract, is now contracted to the club until 2013.

Malouda moved to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2007 for a fee of £13.5 million but has endured a difficult time at the club, often struggling to maintain his form.

However the arrival of Guus Hiddink at the club improved the fortune's of the 28-year-old, who scored nine goals last term, his best in a Chelsea shirt to date.

"I can reveal that I have signed a new two-year deal with Chelsea," Malouda told Tele Guyane.

"I am staying. From now on, I have four years left on my contract."

"I know that every time the transfer window opens there are a lot of rumours and I hope in this one people will know what has happened."
