Chelsea are set to make Manchester City striker Daniel Sturridge their first summer signing.

The 19-year-old forward was out of contract at Eastlands this summer and turned down an offer of a new deal.

Because Sturridge is younger than 24, he cannot move for free on a Bosman ruling.

The fee will be agreed by a tribunal, with reports suggesting the Blues could be asked to pay in the region of £5 million

Mark Hughes' side want £10 million, but Chelsea only value Sturridge at around £3 million.

The striker—a product of the club's youth system—scored six goals in 32 appearances for the club.

He was also on target when the two sides met in the 2008 FA Youth Cup Final.
