Corinthians Remember Ayrton Senna Anniversary with Helmet Tribute

Mark Patterson@@MarkPattersonBRUK Staff WriterMay 1, 2014

Ayrton Senna's death is now 20 years ago, but the Formula One star is still a legend in his homeland, as this amazing tribute from Corinthians shows.

The team lined up for their cup clash against Nacional AM on Wednesday night with replicas of Senna's iconic helmet in the Brazilian colours under their arms.

They then stepped forward to the applause of their home crowd and put them on together.

Senna lost his life in a horror crash on May 1, 1994, while racing at the San Marino Grand Prix.

His fatality caused shock throughout the world—but he remains the last driver to have lost his life while racing in F1.
