Now, everyone knows about the pick-up the Jets had of Vernon Gholston and his amazing speed, talent, strength, and ability to get to the QB.

The problem I have with him is he takes plays off, and he might move in as an outside linebacker while he is playing Mangini's 3-4 defense, and we have already seen how that can affect players, such as, Jon Vilma.

But after the sixth pick in the draft, the Jets did something which left me scratching my head when they traded up a few picks to get a tight end.

Keller is a great player and a steal for the Jets to get late, but a tight end does not fill a need on a team where there are so many.

Let's take a look at the Jets’ tight end situation.

They have Chris Baker, who is an underrated player with great hands, but is being unreasonable in his contract situation. With the pick of Keller, Baker’s ticket is all but punched out of New York.

With Bubba Franks, they might go into more two tight end sets with both Franks, but I think they could have done more with that spot in the draft.

Next, having to wait until round four for their next pick, the got a steal in CB Dwight Lowery, who led the league in picks in 2006. Lowery was a stud in ‘06, but slowed down in ’07 as he recovered from a broken jaw.

Erik Angie, a QB from Tennessee was picked early in the fifth round for the Jets and can get the job done if needed.

I think that the kid can play ball, and was picked to apply more pressure on Kellen Clemens over the years or be a long-term backup to him.

Angie was a decent pick for the Jets, and was picked where he should have been.

In the sixth round, the Jets got another steal, picking Kansas wide receiver Marcus Henry.

Henry is tall, fast, and will work hard to do his business. I think he will make a great NFL player, but that will take a few years.

The Jets then picked a lineman who I don't know much about.

What do you think of the Jets draft?

  1. Dude did you just listen to what veery single analyst said and just like copy it down basically? Cause those are those analysts exact words, especially pertaining to gholston

  2. Well Matt, for some picks who that I didn't know to much about I went to alot of websites, to get their information, and then put it into my own words, but for picks like Gholston and other's who played in big name schools I actually watched the games.
And if I said the exact opposite that the analyst said I would be wrong.
And take a look at your factually incorrect Marlins article.

  3. Dacher can't take the blows of bad comments from his Marlins article.
