The All-Time Steelers Roster- Offense

The Steelers are considered one of the greatest, if not the greatest, franchises of all time.  One of the overlooked aspects of the Steelers is the offense.  The defense of the 70's and current era get most of the franchise's publicity (which they deserve). I would like to take a look at the all-time Steelers offense, complete with backups.

Quarterback: Terry Bradshaw- Four time Super Bowl champion, has a cannon for an arm, and can't spell cat if you spot him the "c" and "a".

Backup: Ben Roethlisberger- Young, still in his prime, and can possibly overtake Bradshaw with a few more championships.

Running Back: Franco Harris- Spectacular runner who could really open the game up against strong defenses in the 1970's.

Backup: Jerome Bettis- Very powerful runner who showed Steelers fans how to play the game.

Fullback: Rocky Bleier- Great fullback who showed that he could both block and carry the ball.

Backup: None

Wide Receiver: John Stallworth- In an era where wide receivers were overlooked, he made plays.

Wide Receiver: Lynn Swann- In an era where wide receivers were overlooked, he made even more plays.

Wide Receiver: Hines Ward- He can catch, block, and break the bones of the opposing defense.

Backup: Louis Lipps- Another overlooked Steelers great who could play in the clutch.

Tight End: Heath Miller- He hasn't been in the league that long, but he's already the best tight end on the list.

Backup: Bennie Cunningham- Randy gets the backup role because he was able to win a few Super Bowls.

Center: Mike Webster- Strong, tough, and powerful.  That's just what you want out of your center.

Backup: Dermonti Dawson- If only he had a Super Bowl, he'd be in the HoF.

Tackle: Larry Brown- Another guy who was always playing in the trenches.

Tackle: Tunck Ilkin- He may not be on the line anymore, but at least he is still calling the games.

Backup: Jon Kolb- Sorry Jon, if only you got into play calling.

Guard: Alan Faneca- I wonder if he regrets going to the Favre-less Jets.

Guard: Gerry Mullins- This is a man who had some key plays during the 1970's Super Bowl team.

Backup: Jim Clack- Did you know that this is the man that caused the "Miracle In the Meadowlands"?
