The Los Angeles Kings have battled back from a 3-0 deficit to force Game 7 in their first-round playoff series against the San Jose Sharks.
Facing elimination for the third consecutive game, the Kings scored three goals in 2:46 to post a 4-1 win in Game 6 on Monday at Staples Center.
A game filled with emotions right from the opening faceoff was closely contested through the first two periods, tied 1-1 after 40 minutes.
The Kings killed off a crucial string of penalties in the second period, then Justin Williams scored his second goal of the game on a controversial play, poking a puck under rookie Alex Stalock's pads into the net.
Los Angeles followed up with two more quick goals, then a series of fireworks between the two teams rounded out the game.
Though the Sharks will play Game 7 at home, the Kings have all the momentum after their three wins. San Jose coach Todd McLellan also has a big decision to make in goal after his gamble to start Stalock in Game 6 didn't yield the desired results.
No matter which side wins, the Battle of California will reach a thrilling conclusion on Wednesday night at the Shark Tank.
Final Score: Los Angeles Kings 4 - San Jose Sharks 1
