Shelvin Mack scored 20 points off the bench and six Atlanta Hawks players scored in double figures in a 107-97 win over the Indiana Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse Monday night, giving the Hawks a 3-2 lead in their first-round Eastern Conference playoff series.
The Hawks led by as much as 30 in the second half, but the Pacers put together a furious rally to trim the lead to nine late in the fourth quarter. However, it proved to be too steep of a hill to climb, and Atlanta was able to hold on.
The Hawks were on fire from three-point range, going 15-of-27 from distance. Mike Scott went 5-of-6 from three, making five consecutive triples in the second quarter alone. He finished with 17 points, all of that coming during that second period. Kyle Korver also made five threes, scoring 16.
Paul Millsap paced Atlanta's starters with 18, adding eight rebounds and four blocks. He shot 5-of-11 from the floor and made a living at the free-throw line, where he went 8-for-12.
Game 6 is back in Atlanta on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET.
