However, instead of coasting home with an easy win, the Penguins were forced to hang on for dear life as the homestanding Jackets scored three goals late in the game. However, the Penguins survived the onslaught and picked up a 4-3 victory to survive the series.
The Penguins defeated the Jackets in the series, four games to two.
The Penguins will face the winner of the series between the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers.
