The NFL off-season is long.

There's very little news coming from the top NFL sites. Teams are very secretive about any information of worth, and so we're left reading articles about Donte Stallworth, highly unlikely rumors, old predictions, and information about stadiums and VPs.

Do we even care about any teams' VPs?

And If you're wondering where I came up with those article subjects, just take a look at the most recent NFL.com articles.

Fortunately, there is a group of players who have taken it upon themselves to keep us from getting bored while we wait for the first kickoff. You can see two of them in the picture above.

But just a note: not all of these players make the news for their egos or poor behavior. Some of them are just good players that have excited us anew with their potential for stardom.

So without wasting time, here are the top NFL players who entertain us during the long off-season.

6. Manning Brothers

HOLLYWOOD - APRIL 06: Football stars Eli (L) and Peyton Manning speak onstage during the taping of Idol Gives Back held at the Kodak Theatre on April 6, 2008 in Hollywood, California. Idol Gives Back will air April 9, 2008 (7:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

These brothers have accomplished many of the same things. They have both won Super Bowls, made Pro Bowls, helped form top-10 teams out of former losers, and now they even do hilarious commercials together.

They keep us entertained with their charity events, quiet but confident predictions of victory, and mature but public competition between one another.

They have become superstars on their respective teams, and the assurance of watching them compete for the Super Bowl each season is encouragement in the fan's quest to make it to September.

5. Michael Vick

Can a former player still keep us entertained? You bet he can!

Michael Vick was an NFL star with incredible talent. He may not have been the best QB in the league, but he was definitely the most entertaining to watch.

Now Vick is out of the league because of his crimes, but his quest to come back is one of the most talked about issues in the NFL. Until Commissioner Roger Goodell opens or closes the door to him, he will continue to excite us.

After all, who wouldn't want to see Vick play again?

Okay...maybe a lot of people...

4. Tom Brady

Introducing Hollywood celebrity, Tom Brady! Wait...what's that you say? He plays in the NFL, too?

Brady has been stealing headlines for weeks now with his marriage to supermodel Gisele Bundchen, their honeymoon, and now rumors of a baby.

On top of headlining the gossip columns, Brady could likely break every QB single-season-record this year. The Patriots are a stacked team, and Brady is coming back with a vengeance from his injury. Fantasy owners are already drooling over his predicated stats.

3. Terrell Owens

It's shocking to think of putting the "showboat" himself in third, but in all honestly, Terrell Owens has had a shockingly quiet off-season.

Everybody is waiting for his first fight with Trent Edwards. But so far we've been observing the typical "first year on a new team Terrell." Whenever Terrell joins a new team, he always starts with a team-first attitude, protects his quarterback, and promises good behavior for the season.

Quite frankly, nobody believes for a second that it'll last, but for now he's kept his word.

Only good things have come from Buffalo's training camp. Terrell even showed up for the voluntary practices showing his dedication to the team. Don't expect this behavior to stay, but for now Terrell is only third on this list.

2. Chad Johnson

Chad Johnson is Terrell Owen's long-time competition for most obnoxious player in the NFL, but Johnson is clearly the winner this off-season.

They've been lighting up the NFL for years in opposite conferences, but finally they are both in the AFC...If only either of their teams had a chance for the playoffs.

We will have to wait a few seasons for a possible playoff match up, but of course that hasn't stopped either of them from promising playoff berths this season.

Johnson has pulled off many stunts during the season, but he is one of the few players who continues his outlandish ways during the off-season.

Exhibit A: His name is no longer Chad Javon Johnson, but Chad Javon Ochocinco.

Exhibit B: Carson Palmer says "no thanks" to Ocho's offer of moving in with the quarterback.

We'll keep you updated when Chad makes his next "shocking" move.

1. Brett Favre

When you saw Owens and Ocho go #2 and #3, I bet you were pretty confused at who was #1. Yes, sadly it's true.

Brett Favre is determined in his "titanic" mission of destroying any chance he has of leaving a good legacy.

Favre seems to enjoy keeping the NFL world waiting upon his every word. He keeps dropping hints, but he keeps changing his mind because one day he hints at retiring, and the next he hints at playing again. This drama has continued for over two years now.

It all started with his fake retirement that angered Green Bay, then he left New York in disgrace, and now is considering moving on to the Minnesota. Whether you approve of what he's done or not, he has utterly stolen the attention of the NFL World.

He seems like a good guy, but he just seems a little confused. Until he makes a firm decision AND sticks to it, the public will continue to read every article about him curious about how this drama will be resolved.
