Hull had a terrible second half to the season and a big reason for that was that players dropped their standard of play over a season. They really need to up the ante and prove they deserve a place in a Premier League club next season. It's not that these players have done a bad job. It's just they need to develop their game and prove they can play at a competitive level.

Jimmy Bullard

Really Bullard needs to prove himself again because he never really had a game in a Hull shirt. The process of establishing himself really never started so Bullard will be tackling this the first time around. Everybody knows what he is capable of, the fantastic, intelligent passes he can make are stunning. What he needs to show is he can fully get over his injury that left him out from all of the second half of the season.

Dean Marney

Dean Marney has not really proven he is of Premier League standard in the role of attacking central midfielder. Sure he works hard and fights in every game but he hasn't really shown that he can control the game like a good Premier League player in that position can. He needs to improve his passing, shooting and awareness to keep his first team position.

Kamil Zayatte

I know that Zayatte has played really well for Hull this season. But there's somebody who can do an even better job and that player is Anthony Gardener. If Gardener can stay fit then he will be more than capable of filling this position. This means that Zayatte has to move to the position that he actually plays in—Midfield. In this position he's still got work to do, mainly in positioning. If he can get this area sorted and control his passes better then he's got all the elements to be a great player.

Peter Halmosi

To be honest I really don't think we should have bought Halmosi, or if we really had to we brought him in too early. However, over the season he has shown improvement and given the extra chance to step up I think he could cut it. He will have to work hard to improve his fitness, crossing and pace.

Boaz Myhill

A great shot-stopper who has made some fantastic saves over the season which helped us enormously. However, his awareness in the box needs definite improvement and also his command of the players around him. There have been countless times at the KC where Myhill could have come out and collected the ball but instead a defender had to make a rushed clearance. If he can improve this he will be a top keeper in the Premier League.
