Friday night, Khalil Greene returned to the starting lineup. Hopefully, the Greene that all Cardinals fans have been hoping to see this year has finally began to surface.

As all St. Louis fans know, Greene has been hard to watch at the plate up to this point. Instead of the Khalil that showed promise and pop when the front office made a move for him this offseason, he has only shown a struggle to keep his average at .200.

Maybe the anxiety has left and the numbers have returned.

Since coming off of the DL, Greene has shown us that maybe he has found his game and left the anxiety at home. Granted he has only made three starts since his return, Khalil has improved on the field and has helped this team like he was meant to.

After coming off the bench Thursday, Greene started Friday and went 2-2 with a home run before leaving early with a foot injury. His follow up Saturday showed promise as well. He managed to double his home run total when he put another one into the stands and added 3 RBI as well.

Sunday's matchup featured another Greene homer before having to leave early again after being hit by a pitch.

Hopefully, Khalil Greene can give this offense a boost. If he returns to the Greene that we saw for years in San Diego and reaches his full potential, this Cardinal team can maybe get things on the offensive side of the ball rolling.

Let's just hope he continues what he has done these past two days.
