Daily Debate: Does Pep Guardiola Deserve Criticism at Bayern Munich?

Bayern Munich head coach Pep Guardiola has come under fire for his style of play after the 1-0 defeat at Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final on Wednesday, as The Guardian reported.

Bayern dominated the first-leg tie at the Bernabeu, but a lack of a cutting edge means the Bundesliga champions find themselves chasing a single-goal deficit after Karim Benzema's winner.

The Allianz Arena club are still on course for the treble they achieved under Jupp Heynckes, but the lack of cjear-cut changes against Real has left a question mark over Guardiola's style of play, according to The Guardian article.

Bleacher Report world football writer Karl Matchett argued on Thursday that Guardiola is right to defend the need to control the game, but the lack of penetration is a concern.

But does Guardiola deserve any criticism aimed at him after a successful first season in charge of Bayern Munich?
