The 2008 NFL Draft is winding to a close. Thus far, 4 Auburn players have been drafted with a few left hoping for some loving in the 7th round (Brandon Cox for Mr. Irrelevant 2008!!).
The SEC has had a big weekend with Darren McFadden and Glenn Dorsey both being picked in the top 5 and Derrick Harvey (!?!?) and Jerrod "Hold the" Mayo picked at 8th and 10th respectively.
Speaking of Glenn Dorsey, if you have watched ESPN in - I don't know - the last week or so, you undoubtedly saw Dorsey destroy Chaz Ramsey and tackle Brad Lester for a loss. I think I saw that play somewhere around 74 times this weekend. You know what happens when you embarrass somebody like that Glenn Dorsey? You get chop blocked*.
You know who hasn't had a player picked thus far? Alabama thats who. I would have also accepted Mississippi State.
New Auburn T-shirt:
Front: Develop Talent?Back: We do!! Fear the perception that Alabama does not increase the skill and draft-ability of the players they recruit.NFL Draft 2008
A little wordy but with some fine print it could work. Get on that Tiger Rags.
The four Auburn players drafted (through pick 222)
Quentin Groves 2nd round Pick #52 to the Jacksonville Jaguars
Patrick Lee 2nd round Pick #60 to the Green Bay Packers
Pat Sims 3rd round Pick #77 to the Cincinnati Bengals
Jonathan Wilhite 4th round Pick #129 to the New England Patriots
Edit: King Dunlap 7th round Pick #230 to the Philadelphia Eagles
*I do not condone or encourage chop blocking by Auburn or any other team. But as they say, "you play the cards you are dealt". And Auburn has been dealing out a lot of chop blocking lately.
