The deepest position in the organization for the Minnesota Wild is on the blue line. The defensemen are led by current Wild players Brent Burns and Nick Schultz and prospects Tyler Cuma, Marco Scandella, Justin Falk, and Maxim Noreau. Also, in the Wild’s blue line future is NCAA defensemen Sean Lorenz, Kyle Medvec, and Anthony Aiello.

The Wild will probably take the best player available, whether it is a defenseman or forward, later in the draft, so a defenseman could be selected then. But at No. 12, the Wild will be able to get a forward that will help the team more than a defenseman will.
