The Rangers now lead the series 2-1 after a 4-1 win in Game 3 in Philadelphia.
The New York penalty kill was a big key in this game. The Rangers also blocked 28 shots and prevented the Flyers from getting quality scoring chances. Henrik Lundqvist made 31 saves to earn the win.
The Rangers drew first blood when Derek Stepan scored on a rebound at 3:54 of the first period. Martin St. Louis made it 2-0 Rangers midway through the first period when he deflected home a shot by Girardi.
Mark Streit scored late in the first period to get the Flyers on the board.
Dan Girardi's blast from just inside the blue line gave New York a 3-1 lead early in the second period and took the momentum back for the Rangers. Dan Carcillo put the icing on the cake with a third period goal that clinched the win for the Rangers.
Game 4 of the series will be Friday night in Philadelphia.
