When a pitcher throws a wild pitch, it can be a struggle to find and collect the baseball.

This was not the case for the Los Angeles Angels' Garrett Richards during the Los Angeles-Washington game.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Richards threw the ball over the catcher’s head, where it bounced off the backstop and miraculously made its way back to the mound.

The funky play may have been a good omen for the Angels, who pulled out a 4-2 win over the Nationals.
