Smoke a spliff at the game? The Colorado Rockies think it would be a lot cooler if you didn’t.
Judging by the new signs placed around designated smoking areas at Coors Field, the Rockies aren’t welcoming legalized marijuana with open arms into their facilities.
The subject of when and where smokers can light up continues to be a topic of concern in Colorado, and you can bet your bottom a team of young Colorado esquires specializing in marijuana legislation are currently preparing for the case of their life against the Rockies.
They may be in for a short battle, however. Places of business appear to have a stranglehold on what is and isn't consumed on their property. According to KHQ.com, O.penVAPE, one of the state’s biggest marijuana businesses, has banned on-the-job marijuana usage for its employees. You smoke while working at O.penVAPE, you're gone.
The point is this: When and where you can smoke marijuana remains a subject of contention in Colorado. Some companies are cracking down, others will likely open up to the practice.
Until then, it would appear Coors Field will remain marijuana-free.
Well, they’re trying to keep it marijuana-free. Exactly how well that will work remains to be seen.
