The San Jose Sharks bounced back from an early 2-0 deficit to score seven straight goals against the Los Angeles Kings, taking a commanding lead in their first-round playoff series as the the scene shifts to the Staples Center for Game 3.
After jumping out to a 5-0 lead in Game 1, the Kings pushed back with three third-period goals, then appeared to carry their momentum into a hot start in Game 2.
But the Sharks kept up an aggressive attack. It was fourth-liners Mike Brown and Raffi Torres who initially found the trick to unlocking Kings' netminder Jonathan Quick. The rest of their teammates followed suit.
As in Game 1, where six different Sharks scored, San Jose got goals from seven different players on Sunday night, displaying a new level of depth rarely associated with the franchise.
The Kings will look for answers before the series resets on Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
FINAL SCORE: San Jose Sharks 7 - Los Angeles Kings 2
