Remember when the German and the Colombian got into each other? Remember the great exchanges in the news conferences? Oh, those were the days.

Well, let me be fair, there were some great moments in this week's practice.

It was great to see Lewis Hamilton's practice, it takes a hell of a driver to concentrate on practice, specially after playing tongue hockey with his girlfriend while strapped in his car. How sweet! If you don't know what "tongue hockey" is, look it up in the urban dictionary.

While Juan Pablo Montoya is coming into his own in NASCAR, F1 keeps on struggling with something called RACING.

For those of you who are F1 disciples (I like all series, including F1) you need to take a look at NASCAR for a couple of weeks, then tell me if it is not what a racing series should be about.

I understand the sophistication of the car is not at the same level of F1, but we all have to ask ourselves, should a series be about racing?

All I have seen in F1 is an endless parade of beautiful cars going on a Sunday drive.

F1 race cars are great subjects of conversation over good food and wine. I'm sure for the hardcore fans it is great to sit around and talk about the latest innovations.

I know that's part of F1, but what happened to racing, racing, or racing?

This afternoon, at 4:30 USA EST, I'll be watching one Juan Pablo Montoya with a great chance to win, or to get enough points to make it into, the elite 12 of NASCAR's championship chase.

Do yourselves a favor  F1 fans, put away your pride for a few hours, and watch a great event at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California. The Toyota/Save Mart 350 is a road course race.

You will not be disappointed...Go Juan...Go.
