What's Next for Cain Velasquez?

The only remaining question is: what’s next?
“As far as what’s next, as far as the fights, the UFC’s got to handle that,” said Velasquez.
Velasquez came into the fight with Kongo as the favorite according to SBGglobal.com, and did not disappoint, giving Kongo a steady dosage of ground-and-pound, all the while taking that nearly-assured title shot away from Kongo with the loss.
Maybe the only person not impressed with Velasquez’s fight is himself.
“I don’t think I’m there yet, where I need to be. I did win, but I want to go out there and win impressively, and if I don’t do that, I’m pretty hard on myself.”
Some fans may feel with the win, Velasquez is near to a title shot. However, if anyone has something to say about that, it will be Shane Carwin. Velasquez may have to go through him, or the loser of the Mir/Lesnar bout at UFC 100 before getting the shot he’s been waiting for.
