The Man With The Perfect Swing #24: Ken Griffey Jr.
When people hear the name Ken Griffey Jr. some people may think of the guy that gets hurt all the time but i think of one the most talented baseball players to ever play the game. Ken Griffey Jr. was know for his great power back in the 90's but he couldn't stay healthy. But I'm here to talk about how ken Griffey Jr. should have that home run record that fathead Barry Bonds has, Griffey was one of the best players in the 90's showing off his ability to hit and steal and use his glove. Griffey should be at close to 800 home runs right now if it wasn't for all those years off being hurt and the lock out in 94 because Griffey had 40 homers through 111 games that's unheard of he was pace to hit 70 or 80. Then look he missed 90 games in 95, 20 games in 92, 22 games in 96, and 367 games over a 5 year span (2002-2006), that is basically 2 and 1/2 seasons or whatever. But still look at what he accomplished a 12 time All-Star, 2005 comeback player of the year, 10 consecutive gold glove awards, 7 time silver slugger, MVP in 97, and a All-Star MVP in 92. What more can you ask out of a guy? This guy hit 382 home runs in a 10 year span the second most homers of the 90's behind Mark McGwire go figure? But then again Griffey is a true athlete unlike McGwire who did steroids and then lied about it and Griffey did all that with out steriods because look at Griffey who stayed the same weight for like his whole career then look at McGwire who put on so much muscle mass going from the A's to the Cardinals, Same with Bonds they are both cheaters and they don't deserve to even have any records or they shouldn't even be able to go to the hall of fame.
Just in my mind Ken Griffey has to be one of the greats if not the greatest baseball player ever but that's just my opinion, and I'm sure there's a lot people that I'm sure wont disagree with my opinion that KGJ is a great baseball player, i mean you cant hate a guy who never complains about playing time, doesn't brag, he's a true baseball player and he should be the one with home run record not that cheater Barry Bonds.
