There's no time for sitting out with an injury when the Stanley Cup is on the line.
It appears that's what Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf is thinking. The center was hit in the face by a puck in the final minute of the Ducks' 4-3 victory over the Dallas Stars in Game 1 on Wednesday. The scary incident led to a pretty wicked picture:
Anaheim provided an update on his injury:
Ryan Getzlaf suffered a deep facial laceration last night in Game 1 vs. Dallas. He received numerous stitches, and x-rays were negative.— Anaheim Ducks (@AnaheimDucks) April 17, 2014
The Ducks expect Getzlaf to be in the lineup Friday night for Game 2:
Getzlaf is expected to play tomorrow night in Game 2.— Anaheim Ducks (@AnaheimDucks) April 17, 2014
That's one way to lead by example.
