Technology has inevitably made its way to the pitch, what with goal-line technology, revolutionary boots and such.

But is Atletico Madrid assistant coach German Burgos 10 steps ahead of the technology curve?

During Atletico's 2-0 win over Getafe on Sunday, Burgos was spotted wearing Google Glass to aid his team during the match. Using the technology, Burgos was able to receive live statistics during the match.

The LFP released a statement (via the Daily Mail) concerning the use of it.

The product allows the analysis of games in real time and the extraction of data from each game; clubs will have all the information about their own game, and of the sides they will face throughout the season.

It will be the first time that Google Glass integrates such a useful footballing service.

According to the same Mail piece, in the future, Google Glass may be used in the Bundesliga for replays.
