Indy Lights Driver Narrowly Avoids Loose Tire at 120 mph

The start of a season should be a time for celebration, not fear.

In the first Indy Lights race of the 2014 season, driver Lloyd Read narrowly avoided a tire that was bouncing down the track. Had the tire bounced a different way, this video could've had a much different—and extremely scary—result.

Read gave his thoughts on the scary situation:

"It was going great up until turn 3. I never want to have to dodge a tire at 120 MPH again! So glad that Scott was ok after a scary suspension failure."

Luckily, Read was able to avoid a serious crash.
