Major golf tournaments have a way of catapulting significant others into the national spotlight, and with Jordan Spieth's rise to the top of the leaderboard in Augusta this week, Annie Verret is the newest woman to grab the country's attention.
The 20-year-old Spieth came up just short in his quest to become the youngest Masters champion ever, tying Jonas Blixt in second place behind champion Bubba Watson, but it would be difficult to feel too sorry for the youngster.
Take a look at the good-looking couple:
Now, the question on everyone's mind. Who exactly is this increasingly famous supporter in Spieth's corner?
Verret currently attends Texas Tech University, and according to Golfweek.com's Beth Ann Nichols, she has been dating the former Texas Longhorn since the two were in high school.
She's important enough to Spieth that he put together a collage on Instagram, so you certainly know the relationship is serious:
Of course, Verret is more than just a pretty face—she is a damn smart cookie.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Spieth's boo is currently in the business school at Texas Tech, where she has made the Dean's Honor Roll (3.5 GPA) once and the President's Honor Roll (4.0 GPA) three times.
She is also member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and most recently worked as an intern at The First Tee of Greater Dallas, a program that instills "life-enhancing values and promote(s) healthy choices through the game of golf."
It would probably be difficult to find a more complete package than Verret, who is often at tournaments supporting Spieth:
So, we've got a 20-year-old who just finished second at the Masters, nearly made history and has established himself as one of golf's most burgeoning young superstars. By his side, a very clearly bright young woman with a good head on her shoulders.
