It was another busy week for Americans playing abroad, highlighted by a goal from Juan Agudelo and transfer rumors involving Brek Shea.

In other news, Geoff Cameron was honored for a stellar performance, Tim Howard's Everton has moved into Champions League contention, and Jose Torres' Tigres won the Copa MX. Also on the positive side of things, Alfredo Morales and Michael Farfan both scored for their respective clubs.

On the downside, Aron Johansson had a bad week as AZ Alkmaar were eliminated from the Europa League. Sacha Kljestan has also seemingly fallen off the radar at Anderlecht.

There are also injury updates on Danny Williams and Michael Orozco and a possible transfer in the works for Tim Ream.

Read about all that and more in this week's Americans Abroad Wrap.

The English Premier League Boys

Tim Howard made five saves as Everton beat Sunderland 1-0. With the win, Everton put themselves into fourth place. Jozy Altidore was not in the 18 for Sunderland again. Sunderland remain firmly rooted to the bottom of the table.

Geoff Cameron and Stoke won 1-0 over Newcastle United. Cameron was WhoScored.com's Man of the Match. Brek Shea was not in the 18 for Stoke, but he was in the news. According to MLSSoccer.com's Armen Bedakian, Toronto FC's general manager said he'd be interested in the American winger. But at the same time, Toronto's coach, Ryan Nelsen, was quick to point out the move is just a rumor at this point.

Brad Guzan and Aston Villa lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace. Guzan had three saves in the match.

U.S. U-20 goalkeeper Cody Cropper also made the bench this weekend for Southampton but did not play.

Ze Germans

Timmy Chandler is still out injured for Nurnberg.

Fabian Johnson started for Hoffenheim in their match against Augsburg on Sunday with Joe Gyau, who normally plays for Hoffenheim's reserve team, making the bench.

John Anthony Brooks was not in the 18 for Hertha Berlin.

In Bundesliga 2, Alfredo Morales scored for Ingolstadt in their 2-1 loss to Paderborn.

Bobby Wood and 1860 Munich play Dynamo Dresden tomorrow.

In the English Championship

Tim Ream started and went the full 90 at center-back for Bolton in their 1-0 win over Barnsley. There was also some speculation going around this week that West Bromwich Albion may be in the market for the American defender. Stuart Holden is still recovering from injury.

Eric Lichaj is still injured and did not play for Nottingham Forest this weekend.

Danny Williams and Reading play Leicester on Monday, but Williams may not play due to an issue with his knee.

Duane Holmes was an unused substitute in Huddersfield's 3-1 loss to Derby.

Oguchi Onyewu and Sheffield Wednesday tied Blackburn 3-3, with Onyewu starting and going the distance.

Jonathan Spector, Will Packwood and Birmingham did not play this weekend.

Elsewhere in Europe

Jermaine Jones played 90 minutes in Besiktas' 1-1 draw on Friday.

Juan Agudelo played 54 minutes and scored the game-winning goal in Utrecht's 2-1 win over Heracles.

Aron Johannsson played 68 minutes in AZ Alkmaar's 1-1 draw and was WhoScored.Com's lowest-rated starter for AZ. AZ was also eliminated from the Europa League midweek.

Terrence Boyd came on in the 65th minute of Rapid Vienna's 0-0 draw with ADM/Modling.

Mix Diskerud and Rosenberg play late on Sunday.

Sacha Kljestan didn't get off the bench in Anderlecht's 2-1 win on Friday.

Alejandro Bedoya and Nantes won 1-0 on Sunday with Bedoya's going the full 90.

Conor O’Brien came on in the 90th minute of OB's 2-0 win on Saturday.

South of the Border

Michael Farfan scored the game-tying goal in the 91st minute as Cruz Azul tied Pachuca 2-2.

Edgar Castillo and Joe Corona both started and went the distance for Tijuana in their 1-1 draw with Tigres. Paul Arriola came on in the 83rd minute; Greg Garza made the bench but did not play.  Herculez Gomez did not make the bench for Tijuana, nor did Jose Torres for Tigres.

Torres did, however, help Tigres to the Copa MX title midweek.

Puebla and their American contingent of DaMarcus Beasley and Michael Orozco play later today, but Orozco will miss the match due to injury.
