Moving Today's Market

In breaking news, the Denver Nuggets announced that they are changing their name to the Enver Nuggets—a team with no "D." Not really, but after struggling mightily to slip past their comrades in defenselessness, the Golden State Warriors, for the 8th playoff seed in the Western Conference, the Nuggets are facing the broom at home tonight. Yes, the Lakers are very good right now and no one anywhere in the known universe can stop Earth's superhuman hoopster Kobe Bryant. But let's face it: you gotta' play some D to win in the NBA. At press time, the Lakers are 4.5 point road favorites.

In the NHL, the Canadiens and Flyers face off against each other in another crucial Lord Stanley's Cup clash. The series is frozen in a 1-1 tie.

Only a smattering of MLB games are on tap during a travel day for most teams. Look for Johan Santana (-230) to take the hill against the floundering Pirates. And odds are very long that Roger Clemens will give any straight answers about his just-revealed ten-year affair with a juvenile country singer. He misremembers a lot of stuff.
