College Football is considered a season to many of us hardcore, diehard football fans. And, summer is in the air. The weather is getting warmer, schools are out, the beaches are filling up, and College Football is getting closer.

2008 was a terrific season with tons of exciting finishes, controversial calls and tiebreaker scenarios.

Some may not like the BCS or may think so-and-so got snubbed, but we still all watch every single game, tivo College football Live to see if they've talked about our team, and even scoured through the internet to talk about it on the blogosphere.

2008 had many great moments but here's a countdown of the 10 I think were last season's best as '09 inches closer and closer.

10. GT Knocks off Rival Georgia

ATHENS, GA - NOVEMBER 29: Quarterback Josh Nesbitt #9 of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets ran for 48 yards during the game against the Georgia Bulldogs at Sanford Stadium on November 29, 2008 in Athens, Georgia. The Yellow Jackets beat the Bulldogs 45-42

Georgia Tech finally got the monkey off of its back. In his first year, Paul Johnson knocked off arch rival Georgia in a shootout in which Georgia Tech's option offense enabled Josh Nesbitt and Jonathan Dwyer to run wild.

The preseason number 1 losses to its big rival, GT, an afterthought in the preseason. A high scoring brawl, this was easily one of the most exciting games of '08.

9. USC Wins the Rose Bowl - Again

This game wasn't even close. USC rolled to a familiar tune - a Rose Bowl victory vs. an overmatched Big 10 foe.

ESPN/ABC will always hype up this game, especially if USC is playing in it. But, it is still remarkable to see USC's domination on not only the Big Ten, but on all of college football.

Congrats to Pete Carroll and the job he has done—amazing.

8. Alabama Tidal Wave Hits Clemson

ATLANTA - AUGUST 30: Quarterback Cullen Harper #10 of the Clemson Tigers throws an under handed pass as he is hit by defensive lineman Lorenzo Washington #97 of the Alabama Crimson Tide at the Georgia Dome on August 30, 2008 in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo

Clemson was the sexy pick to not only win the ACC but to be a darkhorse national contender. Alabama, ranked barely in the top 25 had something to say: We're Back.

The Crimson Tide wrecked Clemson, causing turmoil to their entire season. The Tide on the other hand rolled on to a magical season in which they often held the No. 1 ranking, went to the SEC Championship Game, Sugar Bowl, and asserted themselves back as a relevant top program.

7. USC Falls to Oregon State and Rodgers

CORVALIS, OR - SEPTEMBER 25: Jacquizz Rodgers #1 of the Oregon State Beavers runs with the ball against the Southern California Trojans at Reser Stadium on September 25, 2008 in Corvalis, Oregon. (Photo by Jonathan Ferrey/Getty Images)

Jacquizz Rodgers and Oregon State shocked the entire nation on the West Coast's edition of Thursday night football. On the east, viewers were dozing off to what they thought would be another USC Pac-10 blowout. Wrong.

Jacquizz Rodgers had 37 carries for 186 yards and 2 TDs while adding two more TDs threw (pun intended) the air. This was a sensational play by the freshman and an upset against all odds.

6. Red River Shootout

DALLAS - OCTOBER 11: The scoreboard after the Texas Longhorns defeated the Oklahoma Sooners 45-35 at the Cotton Bowl on October 11, 2008 in Dallas, Texas. (Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)

Texas won this shootout—a great rivalry and one of the most entertaining games of the year. Not that this game really counted or meant anything though.

Colt McCoy was superb in this heated rivalry as Texas ended up with the bragging rights and a very valid argument as to why the were left at home for the 2009 BCS National Championship Game over Oklahoma.

5. Sam Bradford - Sophmore Heisman Trophy Winner

Sam Bradford became only the second sophomore to ever win the coveted Heisman trophy. He also beat out that winner—barely—Tim Tebow, who won the award in 2007.

Sam Bradford displayed excellent leadership qualities, an accurate arm, poise and an up-tempo approach to the Sooners monstrous offense.

4. Tebow Promises to Play Harder

Tim Tebow made a tearful speech in which he promised to play and practice harder than anyone else.

Tebow delivered and brought home another glass ball to Gainsville. Now, that speech is on a plaque and will be remembered by Gator fans for a long time as a promise an athlete made that actually came true—how rare.

3. Utah Stuns the Big Boys in Sugar Bowl

NEW ORLEANS - JANUARY 02: Wide receiver Brent Casteel #5 of the Utah Utes reacts with teammate Zane Beadles after Casteel scores a six-yard touchdwon against the Alabama Crimson Tide during the first quarter of the 75th Allstate Sugar Bowl at the Louisia

Utah and QB Brian Johnson were not afraid of the Crimson Tide. Alabama overlooked their opponent and got manhandled.

Utah kept pressure on Alabama quarterback John Parker Wilson all night and he was continually sacked. Alabama's normally rock solid offensive line suffered without star LT Andre Smith.

Utah wins its second BCS Bowl Game and caps off a remarkable undefeated season.

2. Florida is Your BCS Champ

MIAMI - JANUARY 08: Manuel Johnson #1 of the Oklahoma Sooners can't make a catch along the sideline as he is hit by Major Wright #21 of the Florida Gators during the FedEx BCS National Championship game at Dolphin Stadium on January 8, 2009 in Miami, Flo

Florida Gators led by star QB Tim Tebow won their second title in three seasons. They delivered big blows to Oklahoma all game and played vintage SEC style football.

This big hit set the tone of the game. Florida was not to be denied and they are your 2008-2009 BCS National Champs.

1. Crabtree Scores for the Win

LUBBOCK, TX - NOVEMBER 01: Michael Crabtree #5 of the Texas Tech Red Raiders carries the ball into the end zone to score the winning touchdown during the game against the Texas Longhorns on November 1, 2008 at Jones Stadium in Lubbock, Texas. (Photo by

Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree connected on this play which left thousands of viewers speechless.

Crabtree showed his worth as a top ten NFL WR by coming up big in the clutch on this historic play.

We will be seeing this replay a few more times over the years as this instant classic ended in a dramatic fashion.
