There are just three episodes remaining before April 27’s Sacrifice pay-per-view, and the build and anticipation leading into the event should make this Thursday’s Impact Wrestling one of the best this year.

With the director of wrestling operations MVP announcing this week, via, that Impact would feature a 10-man Gauntlet match to determine the No. 1 contender for Sacrifice, defending TNA world champion Magnus will be watching the action closely.

Add in Dixie Carter’s return and the chance for Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards of The Wolves to recapture the tag team championships they deserve, and this week’s episode is can’t-miss television.

Here is all the vital viewing information and a full preview for Thursday’s Impact Wrestling.

Where: Universal Studios, Orlando, Fla.

When: Thursday, April 10, at 9 p.m. ET

Watch: Spike TV

MVP’s 10-Man Gauntlet Match

After watching Magnus retain his TNA World Heavyweight Championship via dirty tactics or interference every time, MVP is determined to find a man worthy of taking the title off the English star via a 10-man Gauntlet match to determine the new No. 1 contender.

With Samoa Joe, Eric Young and Abyss challenging for the title last week and Magnus still managing to walk out as champion due to mind games he played with Abyss, MVP is determined to find the right man to challenge and defeat the champion at the Sacrifice PPV.

Question on Everybody’s Mind: Who Will be the New No. 1 Contender?

MVP announced that the first three competitors would be Bobby Lashley, Bully Ray and Gunner, and the anticipation surrounding which man would be crowned the next to challenge the champion has TNA fans buzzing.

There are several viable challengers for Magnus’ title, but with no signs that he will be dropping the strap anytime soon, it will likely be a face who will be elevated by the match but doesn’t have to win.

The perfect solution is Gunner.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Breakthrough Moments

Sacrifice may be one of the few PPVs that TNA runs these days, but it’s not one of the company’s biggest events. If there was ever a place to test out Gunner’s main event credentials, it would be against the champion on a secondary show.

Gunner proved during the feud with James Storm that he has the ability in the ring and in storylines to be an intriguing face with a bit of an edge. While taking the step up to the next level with a win may not come to fruition, Gunner deserves the chance to fight for the world title again.

TNA should be hoping that the pressure of the main event creates a diamond out of Gunner.

Dixie Carter’s Return, The Wolves and More

While much of the focus for wrestling fans during this week’s broadcast will be on which superstar is declared the No. 1 contender for the world title, there is plenty in store for Thursday’s Impact Wrestling, including the return of Carter.

Carter lost control of wrestling operations at the Lockdown PPV in March, but she is still part owner of the company. Her vendetta against MVP is clear, but Magnus also turned his back on Carter before she left.

Regardless of what her intentions are, it will certainly make for an entertaining portion of the show.

Question on Everybody’s Mind: Will The Wolves Win the Tag Team Championships?

The Wolves, Richards and Edwards, are two of the most talented workers in the wrestling industry. The team was instantly over with Impact Wrestling crowds due to their abilities in the ring and their natural charisma during a match.

The BroMans are a fun tag team that is genuinely entertaining in a comedic role, but as the tag team champions, they’re a joke. The Wolves never should have lost the titles in the first place, but the hope is that the company sees the error it made and builds to a PPV match where Richards and Edwards capture the gold once again.

Hype Meter: 3 out of 5 New No. 1 Contenders

With the world title and the tag team titles a major focus on Thursday’s episode, the knockouts division will not be forgotten. Champion Madison Rayne will be on notice as the new challenger for her title is crowned this week.

After watching The Beautiful People reform its stable and turn on former friend Rayne, it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see Velvet Sky or Angelina Love win a qualifying match to become the No. 1 contender.
