Fox News Anchor Slips Up, Mistakenly Calls UConn 'NAACP' Champions

Fox News anchor Heather Childers wanted to share the news of Connecticut's fourth national championship, but she ended up making a mistake that left some viewers confused.

Instead of proclaiming the Huskies the 2014 "NCAA" champions, she slipped up and called them the 2014 "NAACP" champions.

Here is what the acronyms stand for:

  • NCAA: National Collegiate Athletic Association
  • NAACP: National Association for the Advancement of Colored People

Oops.

To her credit, Childers was quick to correct herself when she next spoke.

Childers also owned up to the mistake on Twitter:

@TonyTerzi totally on me. I'm a huge sports fan. Was excited about #UCONN's win, misspoke but immediately corrected it. Great tourney!
