Dirk Nowitzki scored 27 points, Brandan Wright added 23 off the bench and the Dallas Mavericks pulled away from the Los Angeles Lakers late in a 107-95 victory Friday night.

Nowitzki passed Dominique Wilkins for 11th on the all-time scoring list in this contest.

The Mavericks didn't win this game without a scare, though, as the Lakers took a 54-52 lead into halftime. The two teams then went back and forth during the third period, and Dallas entered the fourth leading 82-78.

However, the Mavs started the final quarter on a 9-0 run, seizing a 13-point edge and leading comfortably for the rest of the way.

Wright went a perfect 10-of-10 from the floor for the Mavericks, throwing down seven dunks.

Samuel Dalembert contributed a double-double, posting 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Jodie Meeks was the high-point man for the Lakers, scoring 25.

With the win, Dallas earned its first ever season sweep of Los Angeles and, more importantly, maintained its hold on one of the Western Conference's final two playoff spots.
