Wold Hockey Championship: No Surprises as Canada Wins Exhibition over Finland

Martin St. Louis scored 2 goals and Jason Chimera scored one as Team Canada defeated Team Finland by a score of 3-2 in a WHC pre-tournament game in Quebec City on Sunday. Cam Ward played 30 minutes and allowed just one goal.

Tuomo Ruutu and Ville Peltonen had the goals for Finland. For more info check this link.

Carolina forward Ray Whitney had to withdraw from the tournament because of a recurring ankle problem. Obviously, this is the same ankle that forced “The Wizard” to miss the last month of the season for the Hurricanes, (except for the last couple of games in which he probably shouldn’t have played.)

I was a bit surprised when I heard that Whitney was going to be in the tournament. He certainly didn’t look like he was playing at 100% when he came back to play for the Canes at the end of the season. This ankle injury has really been hanging on for a long time.

Nice to see that Ruutu hit the back of the net.

Team USA is playing Team Sweden tonight. More about that game later.
