The Chicago Cubs lost two extra-inning games to start the 2014 MLB season, and a collision in the bottom of the ninth could've put the team in serious jeopardy of getting swept by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Luckily, a play that will make blooper reels everywhere didn't turn out to cost the team the game.

With the tying run on first base with no outs in the bottom of the ninth inning of Thursday's game, Pirates first baseman Gaby Sanchez popped up a bunt attempt. Cubs pitcher Pedro Strop and catcher John Baker both went for the ball. The result was hilarious:

Strop was able to hold onto the ball to record the out. Fortunately for the Cubs, neither player was hurt in the collision.

The Cubs held on for a 3-2 victory over the Pirates to grab their first victory of the season.
