Rob Van Dam to Enter Battle Royal?

With so many significant Superstars left out of storylines during the build toward WrestleMania, the decision was made to stage the first Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. With the likes of Sheamus, Big Show, Rey Mysterio, Christian, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, Alberto Del Rio and many more involved in the fray, it promises to be an entertaining, unpredictable matchup.

While 27 entrants have been announced on WWE.com, there are still three spots up for grabs. There has been plenty of talk regarding who might make it in, especially since there is a sizable pool of legends to choose from if WWE decides to go that route. One legend who could potentially join the chaos is Rob Van Dam.

According to Marc Middleton of WrestlingInc.com, RVD is rumored to be a candidate for one of the final spots in the Battle Royal.

Van Dam hasn't been seen on WWE programming since losing a World Heavyweight Championship match to Alberto Del Rio at Battleground in October. RVD previously made his long-awaited WWE return at Money in the Bank, and he went on to compete in several spectacular matches while looking like the RVD of old.

Although RVD hasn't revealed anything regarding his WrestleMania status, he has been having some fun with fans on Twitter:

If there are plans to bring Van Dam back in the aftermath of WrestleMania, then it certainly couldn't hurt to put him in the Battle Royal. He probably wouldn't win since he doesn't necessarily need the honor, but it would be a nice little surprise for those watching.

Will Sting Make WrestleMania XXX Appearance?

Ever since the dissolution of WCW in 2001, rumors have run rampant regarding Sting making the jump to WWE. It seemingly came close to happening on several occasions, but The Icon has still never graced a WWE ring.

When will Sting debut for WWE?

With his time in TNA seemingly over, the odds of Sting finally joining WWE may be better than ever. Sting may not have much in-ring time left in him at the age of 55, so if a WWE partnership is ever going to happen, there needs to be a sense of urgency on both ends.

The match that essentially every wrestling fan wants to see at this point is Sting vs. The Undertaker, and according to Chris Cash of WrestleZone.com (via The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, subscription required), that legendary bout is penciled in for WrestleMania XXXI.

The report also suggests that Sting's match with Taker would be the one and only WWE contest of his career. If that is the case, then the one question that remains relates to when Sting might make his highly anticipated WWE debut.

It is reportedly unclear whether Sting will make an appearance at WrestleMania XXX or perhaps the next night on Raw, but a previous WrestleZone.com tweet from March 18 revealed there is a belief he'll be involved with WrestleMania XXX in some capacity.

Conveniently enough, Sting will be in New Orleans at the Wrestlecon convention, per Josh Isenberg of WrestleZone.com. As cool as it would be to see Sting at WrestleMania, it might be smarter to save him for Raw—particularly if 'Mania features a big moment, such as Daniel Bryan winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

The post-WrestleMania Raw has become known for big moments such as Brock Lesnar's return, John Cena challenging The Rock, and Dolph Ziggler cashing in Money in the Bank. Sting's WWE debut should be added to that illustrious list.

WWE Contacts Former Stars for WrestleMania

Since the inaugural edition of WrestleMania back in 1985, "The Showcase of Immortals" has been known as an event built on star power. That has oftentimes lent itself to celebrity involvement, but it also had plenty to do with star power from a pure wrestling standpoint.

WrestleMania XXX is a landmark event, and it should come as no surprise that WWE wants to make the most of it. According to WrestlingInc.com (via F4WOnline.com, subscription required), WWE has made an effort to contact every major WWE draw of the past 30 years in hopes that they will take part in WrestleMania XXX in some capacity.

While no specifics were offered, it's tough to argue with this line of thinking. So many Superstars made WrestleMania a success over the years, and it would be great to see them on Sunday in New Orleans.

Hulk Hogan will be in attendance as the host of WrestleMania XXX, but the biggest draw of the Attitude Era is still a question mark. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was recently confirmed for the show, according to WWE.com, although it remains to be seen what he'll do.

Even if it's only for a brief backstage segment, WrestleMania XXX will feel that much more special if Austin is featured. He helped create some of the greatest WrestleMania moments in WWE history, and there is no doubt that fans would love to see him on the big stage again.
