Red Issue, the Manchester United fanzine, has mockingly accused the manager David Moyes of orchestrating the infamous plane flyover protest that took place during the weekend's match against Aston Villa.
In their latest issue, which will go on sale before the Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich, Moyes is captioned laughing off the incident with members of his coaching staff:
New Red Issue out tonight. All plane-banner-flying t-----s are banned from buying it. pic.twitter.com/rnOmev91N6— Red Issue (@RedIssue) April 1, 2014
Funnily enough, the stunt seemed to unite fans behind Moyes once again. Fans in the ground booed the plane as it flew overhead, and United came back from a goal down to beat Villa 4-1.
That's not to say Moyes did it, of course. But just that it would have been somewhat inspired if he had.
