Yesterday in his latest interview, Manchester City Chairman Khaldoon al Mubarak made it clear that a number of quality layers were going to be signed before next season.
Quality was the word that should focus the minds of all City fans, as when the signings are made we will then have a benchmark for what the Chairman thinks quality is.
He was also at pains to explain that City were not going to pay crazy prices and would walk away if quoted over inflated fees.
There are apparently two deals currently under negotiation.
One of these two deals seems to be that of Samuel Eto'o for a staggering £70m deal over three years, a £30m transfer fee, and the rest in wages.
Barcelona insiders have let slip the fact that he is likely to move soon and that a deal is almost complete.
So, it seems begins City's move into the very top echelons of football. With the likely capture of Carlos Tevez still apparently part of the planned improvements, will the squad be fit for the Champions League sometime soon?
