Already dealing a sore right ankle that made him a game-time decision on Friday night, the Knicks' superstar suffered a new injury against the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.
According to Newsday's Al Iannazzone, however, it doesn't sound serious:
Knicks said Carmelo Anthony had X-rays on his left hand and they were negative.— Al Iannazzone (@Al_Iannazzone) March 31, 2014
Time to exhale, Knicks fans.
'Melo tallied 19 points, including four key ones down the stretch, to go with nine rebounds in 34 minutes, helping the Knicks earn a nice road win to climb within one game of the eighth-place Atlanta Hawks.
It may depend on how the injury reacts overnight, but with the Knicks fighting to keep their postseason hopes alive, it would be surprising if Anthony missed Monday night's game at Utah.
If he is forced to miss any time, Iman Shumpert and Tim Hardaway Jr. would see the biggest uptick in minutes.
