Hong Kong Rugby Sevens Produces Epic Fail as Japan Player Tries Swan Dive Score

Kosuke Hashino made an extraordinary gaffe for Japan during the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens tournament as he attempted to score a try with a big swan dive, only for the ball to squirm out of his hand.

Fortunately for his side, it was deep into the match and they already enjoyed a healthy 26-5 lead over Italy. But that won't quite stem the embarrassment of the incident:

Unfortunately the blooper may detract from the significance of the victory. As the Irish Independent explains, beating Italy sealed their place in the Sevens World Series as one of the core teams.
