Wisconsin 69, Baylor 52 - Final Score
The second-seeded Wisconsin Badgers picked apart sixth-seeded Baylor's zone defense apart with fluid ball movement and beautiful passing en route to a 69-52 victory in the Sweet 16 on Thursday night. The victory puts the Badgers back in the Elite Eight for the first time since 2005.
Seven-footer Frank Kaminsky led the Badgers with 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting and six blocks, while Ben Brust chipped in 14 points and drained five three-pointers.
Freshman reserve Nigel Hayes poured in 10 points and helped Wisconsin shoot 52 percent.
Not much went right for the Bears, who were held to a season-low 16 points and a season-worst 21 percent in the opening half. Things did not get much better in the second half as Baylor finished 18-of-58 (31 percent) from the floor.
Despite being a bit overmatched in the paint, on paper at least, the Badgers won the battle on the glass 40-33 and grabbed eight offensive boards.
Wisconsin has never made the Final Four under Bo Ryan, but it is just one game away from breaking through. It will face the winner of Thursday night's San Diego State-Arizona game.
