NFL players don't need bulletin board material to get pumped up for division games, but two NFC West players now have extra motivation when their teams play against each other next season.
Offseasons are long for everyone, so players have to find a way to stay busy. Twitter is one way for them to pass the time. The latest Twitter feud featured San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Anthony Davis and St. Louis Rams defensive end Chris Long.
The 2010 first-round pick started the war of words with a simple tweet and an Instagram photo:
My rookie year Chris beat me every way you can beat a man. Ask him wassup now tho...… http://t.co/LkweEe1bZR— Anthony Davis (@AnthonyDavis76) March 25, 2014
Long, who was a first-round pick in 2008, didn't take too kindly to being called out:
I don't usually talk ill of an opponent on here unless I'm provoked directly... But some guys are just attention starved. U got it boss.— Chris Long (@JOEL9ONE) March 27, 2014
Long finished last season with 8.5 sacks.
The feud continued from there:
I love it. I admit he's not a pus*y but I will kick his ass. lol— Bam Davis (@AnthonyDavis76) March 27, 2014
He doesn't know what the playoffs smell like. lol I'm a lot younger than him but have played on much bigger stages. #YoungOG— Bam Davis (@AnthonyDavis76) March 27, 2014
It's important to remember that the Rams and the 49ers play twice next season.
