The Michigan State Spartans looked impressive in their Week Two matchup against Bowling Green.
On offense, QB Brian Hoyer threw for 250 yards on 17 of 29 passing. The leading receiver was playmaker Devin Thomas, who had four catches for 156 yards and a key fourth-quarter TD.
The running game continued to be the backbone of the Spartan attack, led by Javon Ringer with 22 carries for 83 yards and a score. The Spartans as a team ran for 142 yards.
The MSU defense was again a pleasant surprise, limiting the explosive Bowling Green O to just 47 rushing yards. The Spartan D also took two interceptions from Bowling Green quarterback Tyler Sheehan, and held the Falcons offense to 6-for-17 on third down.
The 2007 Spartans look to be a determined bunch—which will need to continue if they want to be successful against a shorthanded Pittsburgh team.
If MSU continues to play the way that have, this could be finally be the season Spartan fans have been waiting for.
